Friday Food: 'Bread & Butter Pudding' With A Twist

My lovely sister sent in a recipe for 'Friends who cook' this week. This is a recipe that she made for Father's Day lunch {of which my father did not eat any, opting instead for jelly in four colours topped with aerosol cream} and it was delicious.

Now, when My Sewing Sister told me what she was making for dessert, I had decided I was going to hate it and I was only going to have a tiny smidge of it, just to be polite.

But, when I tried it - oh my goodness - it was so good! It was basically a bread and butter pudding with raspberries and white chocolate. But instead of bread she used day old doughnuts. This literally cracked me up - I just thought this was the funniest thing ever!

So, while getting the details from her I asked where she got the recipe from and asked her to send a photo. The recipe is an adaptation of Janelle Bloom's {Ready Steady Cook} recipe from a Family Circle Magazine. However, Janelle makes this dish with croissants rather than doughnuts. Only someone in my family would think to substitute croissants for DOUGHNUTS! Hilarious!

But, it is delicious and feeds loads of people. So... if you have a spare 12 doughnuts in the pantry, this could be the recipe for you!
